The Orange Prize is also unique in having only female judges, this year they are:

The award ceremony will take place in The Clore Ballroom, Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre, London, on 9 June 2010. The winner not only receives a cheque for
£30,000 but also a limited edition bronze figurine called the 'Bessie'
- created by the artist Grizel Niven.
Previous winners have included Zadie Smith,
Andrea Levy, Helen Dunmore, Anne Michaels, Carol Shields, Rose Tremain
and Marilynne Robinson.

The Orange Award for New Writers
Launched in 2005 in partnership with Arts Council England, this award celebrates emerging female literary talent. All first works of fiction, including novels, short story collections and novellas, written by women of any age or nationality and published as a book in the UK are eligible to enter.
