The CWA Dagger Awards are the longest established literary awards in
the UK and are internationally recognised as a mark of excellence and
achievement.
The finalist's for the awards were announced on 9th August and the CWA once again join forces with Specsavers, Cactus TV and ITV3 to bring you the Specsavers Crime Thriller Awards 2010. The awards ceremony will take place on Friday 8th October at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel and will be televised on ITV3 on Tuesday 12 October.
Literary Awards presented will include the CWA Gold Dagger for best crime novel of the year, the CWA Ian Fleming Steel Dagger for best thrille and the CWA John Creasey New Blood Dagger for a new author of note.
CWA Chairman Tom Harper said: “The CWA Dagger Awards have always enjoyed huge prestige among crime fiction fans and authors. The shortlists this year are incredibly strong, from exciting new talents to established masters, all working at the top of their game. It’s particularly gratifying to see two authors who've come through the CWA Debut Dagger for unpublished authors now shortlisted for these major awards.
